The Redmond EMS Honor Guard

The Redmond EMS Honor Guard logo.

The Redmond Regional Medical Center EMS Honor Guard was established to represent the department at funerals, parades and other ceremonial events. It is our intention to represent any member of the EMS service and their families when our assistance is requested. The Honor Guard will promote honor, professionalism and integrity through its conduct and image at all times holding the departments’ core values to the highest degree.

Our motto is: Honor, Loyalty and Respect.

In the event of a Line-Of-Duty-Death (LODD), the Redmond EMS Honor Guard will assemble to provide support for the fallen brother or sister’s family as well as perform the traditional Honor Guard duties. The Honor guard will also represent the HCA Corporation, Redmond Regional Medical Center and the United States of America when requested for duty by other public safety or military organizations in the event of an LODD.

The Redmond EMS Honor Guard will proudly represent our organization at any public special event when requested.  Recently, the Honor Guard presented colors during opening day at State Mutual Stadium for the Rome Braves organization, performed at the unveiling of the Polk County Fallen Police Officer’s Memorial and the State of Georgia EMS awards ceremony. We have also performed in several parades this past year.

Through the support of Redmond Regional Medical Center’s CEO Brenda Waltz and the hard work of EMS Director Robert Early and Honor Guard Commander Jeremy Wallin, the Redmond EMS Honor Guard was established in January of 2010. The Guard received its colors in a un-encasement ceremony held on the grounds of Redmond Regional Medical Center in April of 2010. In honor of her efforts, Ms. Waltz was named as the first honorary member of the Honor Guard and received a commemorative plaque, the Redmond EMS Directors Ribbon of Excellence and a sealed Redmond EMS service patch.
